Water

Hello, I am Humphrey (Helen’s husband), a Chartered Engineer by profession and a man pursuing God’s best for his life! This has led me to take a great interest in health and nutrition “for the ordinary person”. I listen to, and watch doctors and nutrition experts, `I study God’s Word and out of that try to help ordinary people like us to live long, strong, healthy lives. I want to complete God’s plan for my life, not arrive in heaven early because I didn’t look after my body as well as I could have done!
Did you know that you are mostly water? Probably but maybe you didn’t know that to keep working properly your body needs a steady intake of pure water. You lose water in every day activities as simple as breathing and talking, let alone when you get hot and start to sweat. A new born baby is about 80% water by weight but an old person can be reduced to less than 50% water. This is much more serious than it may sound; do you know that lack of water can cause:-

  • Joint pains; that aching back may not need pain killers with all their side effects, lots of water may be all it needs!

  • Water keeps your skin elastic, healthy and young looking far better than those creams “that you are worth”!

  • Water improves your resistance to common infections.

  • Water reduces the risk of heart disease and strokes.

  • Water helps to prevent memory loss.

  • Water deals with constipation and heart burn.

  • Water reduces problems of Asthma.

  • Water helps you lose weight..............and so the list goes on.

Your body is carefully designed to drink water. Tea, coffee, wine, beer and soft drinks don’t work the same way. I am not saying you can never drink them but your main drink for health is water. Some of this can be in the “5 a day” fruit and vegetables but in total the rule of thumb is that your body weight in pounds divided by 2 gives the number of ounces of water you need every day. (For those who are metricated take your weight in kg, divide by 31 and that is how much pure water in litres you need per day.)
I will be back to tell you when to drink it, the best sources and what other drinks do to you.

Net time - there's much more on water!

  1. Water does wonders for us. It promotes life, cleanses, refreshes and dilutes and its completely natural.

We are ready to pay for and drink all kinds of toxins. If we substituted every other drink with a glass water, we would be so much healthier.
